Before you read the actual post, I want to say that I wrote this a few days ago, but up until now didn’t get a chance to shoot the photos. This month will probably be a really busy month for me, which means just a few posts from me. I will be posting more in the future, but it might be a month or two until then.
This month, I have kind of a theme to my TBR. Which is “sequels”! I have to read some sequels. As almost noone writes standalones anymore, I have started so many series that I haven’t finished. Also, this will help lowering the TBR pile, for I own quite a lot of books that I haven’t read yet and I really want to change that. This also means not buying too many new books. I don’t think I will be able to buy no new books until I finished all of my unread books. Because this would take months. But I try to read at least one book from my TBR before I buy and read a new book.
So, on with my TBR! This month I plan on reading:
A Clash Of Kings by George R.R. Martin – If I’m honest with myself, I end the TBR here. If I start this book and don’t allow myself to read other books inbetween, I will only be able to finish one book this month. If I finish it. But I’m sooo looking forward to reading this! It will just take me forever. I’m a slow reader as it is, but reading in English takes me even longer than reading in German. And this book is huge! Almost 1000 pages and tiny fonts. And so many names that all sound alike!
What I plan on reading in the highly unlikely case that I finish A Clash Of Kings earlier than I thought:
The Novice by Trudi Canavan – I loved the first one. Really excited for the second one!
The Return to Narnia, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Silver Chair and The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis – or at least one of the four.
A Million Suns by Beth Revis – Sequel to Across the Universe, which I loved. I preordered A Million Suns and I still haven’t read it. Shame on me.
Lords of the North by Bernard Cornwell – Third book in the Saxon Stories series, I really liked the first two. Yay, vikings! Battles! Axes! Swords!
All these books have been sitting on my shelf for quite some time now. But I just bought a new book that I will probably fit in somewhere (which does not fit in with the theme, but oh well):
Watchmen by Alan Moore – I’m so excited for this! Yay! Another graphic novel, and the one that gets the highest ratings. It’s also on the NPR’s Top 100 Science Fiction and Fantasy list and I plan on reading all of the books on that list. I loved the movie, but fortunately I have horrible memory when it comes to movies! Seriously, that’s a good thing.
Just a few minutes ago I watched Pricilla from the readables’ June Book Haul video. I was thinking about reading Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter this month and then watching the movie and comparing the two. Now that Pricilla does it too, I really really want to! So maybe I will buy the ebook and read it this month. We’ll see.
What will you read this month? What do you think about my picks? Will I be able to finish A Clash Of Kings? Leave me a comment 🙂
